Detailed roles of exco members

President

  • Spokesperson for EML and liaising with CFA and tutors; external parties who want eml for their engagements will be redirected to CFA by the president.
  • In charge of EML's vision and growth; need to be decisive and help EML move towards its goals, objectives and fulfill EML vision.
  • Leading exco with the help of the Vice-President & resolve conflicts.
  • Delegation and monitoring of tasks assigned.
  • Informing all EML members of ad hoc projects such as recordings and scoring projects, which would be taken up by any of the committee members on a voluntary basis. In the event that CFA wants us to take up an ad hoc project which committee members are unavailable, president can choose whether to take up the project at his/her discretion.


Vice-President

  • Stand in for president when the president is unavailable in meetings, workshops, and help to empower/support the president in overall matters.
  • In charge of welfare (eg. birthday celebrations, outings).
  • All domestic issues and internal feedback to be channeled to Vice-President.

Publicity

  • Marketing of upcoming EML gigs/performances etc, help to move as many tickets as possible, designing the marketing campaign posters and relevant material (but poster design can be outsourced).
  • Updating the contents of EML website, publicizing EML website, archive hard copy of publicity material for future reference.

Production

  • In charge of co-ordinating all performance related matters, including working out theme and content of performances with the rest of the exco.

Technical

  • In charge of all EML equipment and technical property (aka EML Assets) and loan of equipment.
  • Production setup of equipment and work with sound crew (soundcheck) during performances.

Secretary/Treasurer

  • Secretarial tasks include taking notes for all EML meetings and making sure minutes are disseminated within 48 hours to all exco members and relevant parties (eg.tutors, liaison officers etc), and hard copy filed. Also in charge of tutor claim forms.
  • Treasurer duties include being in charge of all EML related claims, such as equipment purchases, props and performance related expenditure. Also in charge of membership fees, CD, performance tickets sales and record of ALL transactions (hard copy).

Lesson Co-ordinator

  • In charge of attendance taking and setting up for lessons, workshops and masterclasses (booking and preparing venue, projectors, chairs etc), making sure everyone involved knows about venue, time, date, and that all lessons run smoothly.
  • Liaise with the rest of exco and relevant tutors about lesson plans and content and materials.

2 mini gigs and 1 main performance (NUS Arts Festival) per year. (Requirement of CFA)
