Short Term Goals

By End of Semester 1

1. Tutors have more visible presence. – TW (E)

2. Develop and Flesh Out Year 1 coursework – Adrian (E)

3. Develop 10 new members who can create, record, perform and record original electronic music – Ben (E)

4. Enable senior members to share their experience with new members and create bonding – Ben (E)

5. Develop the senior members' skills in sampling, sequencing, and sound effects – Ben (E)

6. Buy condenser mics – Adrian (E)

7. Agree upon an upgrading system with CFA whereby we can sell our old stuff and buy new ones with the sale proceeds. Currently, the money gained from sale does not go into our budget. – TW (E)

8. Members own the rights of the songs they perform in EML concerts – TW (CS)

9. Get 1 film scoring project by year end – Adrian (CS)

10. Stage 1 concert showcasing the original works of the new and old members – Ben (CS)

11. Perform 3 times outside campus, as EML – Ben (CS)

By end of Semester 1 to Semester 2 holiday period

1. Build a performance and project/event teams that provides quality product and services for the electronic music team. – Jeff (P)

2. Assign new members as understudies/build up a sub-committee that can understand what the exco is doing, so as to be able to take over the roles after handover effectively. – Jeff (P)

3. Organize 2 Master Classes for members; one in film scoring – Ben (E)

4. Organize 1-2 day workshops, open to all, similar to Flash, Dreamweaver workshops held by computer clubs – TW (E, CS)

5. Secure a link with people who need music for their work (eg, undergrads who need to produce short films – KK (CS)

6. Compile 1 CD of Concert Tracks – Ben (CS)

7. Confirm 10 sponsors for a total of $5,000 for the annual concert – Ben (CS)

8. Record 4 CFA groups – Adrian (CS, E)

9. Have 1 dj gig – Adrian (CS)

By End of Semester 2

1. Midi controllers for rent to members – TW (E)

2. Develop and flesh out Year 2 coursework – Adrian (E)

3. Perform 2 times outside campus – Ben (CS)

4. Stage 1 concert based on the Theme, featuring at least 2 group pieces and 2 experimental pieces –Ben (CS)

5. Sell 200 concert tickets – Ben (CS)

Medium Term Goals

1. Stage one EML performance overseas (like the 2005 HK Fringe Club event - one set of performers) – Ben (CS)

2. Organize one EML performance tour/exchange overseas (like the Medan trip in 1991) – Ben (CS)

3. Promote 5 members / alumni to become electronic music artists who are significant contributors to the Singapore electronic music scene – Ben (CS)

4. Formalize concert preparation process.

5. Facilitate anonymous feedback from members.

Long Term Goals

1. Regular alumni meetups and networking sessions every month – Adrian (P)

2. Have a permanent group of core people (10-15) that continually work towards the EML mission, vision and goals.

3. 90% retention of good juniors and seniors, 100% catering to their respective interests. – KK (P)

4. More non-lesson based EML activities. – TW (E)

5. Have 2 or more masterclasses a year, free or heavily subsidized, possibly open to the public – TW (E)

6. Have a proper studio with recording studio and proper sound-proofing, up-to-date software and keyboards. – TW (E)

7. Improved handphone reception. – TW (E)

8. Participate in >2 community outreach programmes per year – TW (CS)

9. Self-organize our own EM gig/rave party/music fest every year. So that our "biggest event of the year" is not the CFA arts fest thing. – TW (CS)

10. At least 6 scoring projects per year. – Adrian (CS)

11. Many recording projects – Adrian (CS)

12. 1 DJ gig every month – Adrian (CS)

13. Organize an annual seminar / conference on electronic music – Ben (CS)

14. Produce annual works of international electronic music conference standard – Ben (CS)

15. Top the UK, US and European Dance Music Charts – Ben (CS)
