cut away guitar strumming

Postby holyct on Wed Nov 25, 2009 10:47 am

I am doing a remix of a song which have vocal and guitar strumming, I like the vocal and would like to cut away the guitar strumming, I used EQ 8 cut away most of it but the sharp strumming which sounds very ear piercing (after cut away the low frequency) every 3rd beat of a bar. it shares frequency range of the vocal. I wonder if there is a way to deal with it

Try to put a notch filter at the sharp frequency on EQ8. It's pretty hard to extract a clean vocal but that should do the trick of softening the guitar.
