M-Audio Prokeys 88sx Sound Bank on Ableton Live 7

Postby Noirgeisha on Fri Dec 26, 2008 2:36 pm

Before I begin, I'm really a tech moron, so please forgive me if I posted this question and used the wrong jargon on the wrong section of the forum...

How do I sync the M-Audio Prokeys 88sx keyboard to Ableton Live 7? I can't seem to make its sound banks appear on the programme. Can someone help me out on making the sound banks from our keyboard appear and work on Live 7?

Many thanks!

Long time no hear from you. Haha.

Ok, the thing is, you can't get the soundbanks on the Prokeys (and in fact, many other hardware-base sound banks) onto software.

The very most you can do, is to use the SX as a MIDI controller, with Live's VSTs.

Or, if you really like the soundbanks on the Prokeys, you could record your performance as an audio clip in Live.

Or, if you want to enjoy the MIDI editing, then you could write out a MIDI passage, and play in into the Prokeys, then record the output as audio in Live.

But whatever it is, the soundbanks on the Prokeys aren't going to get into Live. Can't be done.
